Hand vs Boat and dock

Back story 17 y/o male was trying to help keep a boat from hitting a dock… i was the “paramedic” on this call(clinicals)

Dispatched as a traumatic injury upon arrival found a 17 y/o male who had his hand wrapped with a rag to keep from bleeding everywhere.. patient walked to the ambulance.. initially I wrapped his hand with 4x4’s and rolled gauze to stop the control the bleeding well other interventions were being done

Treatments done well enroute:

• 20ga in the RAC(attempted an 18g)
• 4 mg of morphine followed by 4 mg’s of zofran
• 12 lead done with cardiac monitoring
• 1000 mL of saline given KVO
• Bandages removed and replaced with a 5x9, rolled gauze and coband
• Another 12 lead done prior to arrival to ED
• 2 mg’s of morphine given prior to arrival to ED

This was my first trauma as a “Paramedic” and i feel like it went smoothly but there is still a lot for me to learn! So any constructive criticism is welcomed!
