Case Description
17 years old male presented with a history of 3 weeks of left nasal congestion and epistaxis left side on and off. Clinical exam showed a mass, non tender, red, crusty that was occupying the entire left nasal vestibule. No bleeding at the time of presentation.
Three weeks ago, he was initially seen by his GP and treated with Betnesol drops for 2 weeks for what they thought to be a nasal polyp. The tumour increased in size.
CT scan described the tumour as polypoid tissue left nasal vestibule with origin either on the inferior turbinate or nasal septum.
The picture shows the specimen sent to pathology after removal. It had an ~1 cm insertion on the septum (Little’s area) left side that was cauterised after removal and an 8cm Merocel put in place. Any thoughts on what it can be?
