Middle-aged man h/o well-controlled DM II. Stepped on a sewing needle at home. Attempted to remove himself. Needle ended up breaking and patient was only able to remove part of it. Came to ED several days after incident occurred c/o redness/swelling/pain to area. How would you recommend treating?

81yo male, recently admitted to LTC facility for rehab. Following a triple bypass, went into acute respiratory failure and coma x 7 months. Peg/trach placed then, recently removed. Patient is AOx3.
