This is a non-invasive ventilator. This is the 1st one I've seen. Had to transport a pt with his personal one. Did not have to use it. He was kind enough to let me take a pic of it. Has anyone used these before and how effective are they? How do they differ from C-PAP?

78yo/f presents with a CC of SOB, end-stage renal disease, and has missed dialysis x 3 days. Family states on Friday that the patient was complaining of chest pain and SOB but said she doesn’t need to go to the ED yet. On arrival, the patient is breathing 47 times a minute with audible crackles. The patient started on BiPap in AVAPS mode. I have routinely used NIV on the Hamilton T1 during my time as a flight paramedic. However, this was my first time using the mode AVAPS. I was impressed with how quickly the patient turned around. Anybody else using AVAPS mode and in what kind of situations? HR-141 RR-43 149/71 VBG PH-7.15 CO2-72 BE -4.5 K+5.3
