80 yo f with partial amputation of index finger after carving a turkey. I could have simply debrided it and let it heal by secondary intention but I decided to remove nail and repair it. 2 wks later healed up fine with normal sensation

Update to the 40 year old male with the infected Achilles tendon repair 4 weeks postop. I took him for an I&D. I removed all the sutures I could find and left the swivelocks in the calcaneus. Intraop cultures were taken. Interestingly, his Achilles had healed a nice bridge of tissue over his rupture (image above-prone with heel at the bottom) I approximated the wound and put on an incisional wound vac.
Cultures isolated MSSA so he was treated on keflex.
Once his wound healed, I put him back on the normal rehab protocol.
He has returned to full activity.
Continues to heal. Looking pretty good, I think.](https://app.figure1.com/case-detail/0c120958-2a19-4d38-8a54-a9efa48bbbeb)
this is the update from that facial lac I did. Sutures were removed and the only problem area was in the middle laceration as I suspects. My biggest concern was that the small flap would scab up and not heal right ... However I am very please with how vermillion border is lined up! I think she will be very happy once it all heals...
Wound to ankle area been putting santyl on wound and wondering if the wound is healing. I would appreciate your help and what else can we do for wound to heal quickly.
