79 yo W with history of lumbar fusion years ago comes in for a flare up of "sciatica" for 3 days. Her daughter, a physical therapist, worked on her without any improvement. She complains of left low back pain, severe, radiating all the way down her left leg and across her back. No bowel or bladder dysfunction and no saddle anesthesia. I ask if she has noticed any rashes and she says "you know, my daughter scolded me for leaving a my heating pad on for too long and burning myself." Let's have a look, shall we?..
