A solitary hyperpigmented well defined skin lesion of 4 months duration with a slowly progressive course affecting the outer aspect of the right arm.

The top of the lesion shows a crust (induced by the patient from picking of the lesion in an attempt to remove it).

Closer inspection of the lesion shows that it gradually blends into the surrounding tissue and the lesion is formed of two parts: the central white area and the peripheral pigmented area.

By palpation, the lesion is firm to hard in consistency with some tenderness with palpation of the lesion elicited.
