32 y/o male, past history of methamphetamine usage. Rampant caries protocol used, removing as much decay as possible and treating with resin modified glass ionomer (Mostly equia). This is after two sessions with probably one or two to go. This is a charity case and the patient is getting his life back together. Incredibly, the patient has not had much pain before or after the procedures. I have also been using silver diamamine fluoride to arrest caries to halt progression of the decay.

Patient presented today with history of head and neck radiation from squamous cell carcinoma of the face 12 years ago. Total loss of salivary function on left side, leading to circumferential cervical caries found throughout the mouth, LL quadrant restored today. #19 and #20 caries removal led to heavy shoulder margins, composite buildups placed, E.Max (lithium disilicate) crowns made via CEREC (chairside). Cervical decay #21, #22, #23 restored with the unfortunately not-as-esthetic Fuji II LC (Glass Ionomer) due to high caries risk. Treatment done in single appointment.

Pt presents with gingival irritation and inability to clean between #teeth. Existing DO #amalgam restoration with recurrent decay at margin + bulbous over contouring. #Amalgam replaces after caries excavation and placed properly to allow #hygiene & improved #tooth prognosis. Excess debris (white shaving) seen in post-op are artifacts and were cleaned post x-ray.
