### Monteggia fracture

AP and lateral radiograph of the forearm (image 1) and lateral radiograph of the elbow (image 2) show a Monteggia fracture dislocation complex with a transverse fracture of the mid ulna and dislocation (arrow) of the radial head. Monteggia fractures occur after a fall onto an outstretched hand. They occur almost exclusively in children.

**AP (image 1) and lateral (image 2) radiographs of the foot display a fracture of the distal 5th metatarsal with medial dislocation of the metatarsal head. Metatarsal fracture/dislocations are rare injuries that typically require operative intervention for reduction.**

**Sunrise (image 1) and PA (image 2) views of the knee show lateral dislocation of the patella. The dislocation is associated with a displaced osteochondral fracture (arrow) of the posterior aspect of the patella. Patellar dislocations typically occur due to a shallow femoral trochlea. In this case, the dislocation occurred due to direct trauma. Osteochondral fractures occur in 25% of traumatic patellar dislocations. #MSKMonday #MusculoskeletalMonday**
