Radiograph of the patella demonstrates a curvilnear bony fra | Figure 1

Radiograph of the patella demonstrates a curvilnear bony fragment (white arrow) along the medial facet with lateral tilting and subluxation of the patella. Sag FS T2 MRI shows a large osteochondral defect (denoted by white arrows) interrupting the low signal intensity cartilage of the lateral femoral condyle. These findings are consistent with transient patellar dislocation. #MSKMonday

Sagittal fat suppressed T2-weighted MRI in the same patient shows an inferior pole patellar sleeve avulsion fracture. The osteochondral fragment (white arrows) is displaced by the intact patellar tendon. The tibial tubercle is normal. This fracture frequently has a large sleeve of unossified “epiphyseal” cartilage surrounding a smaller bony fragment. Either pole may be affected. #FridayQuizDay](https://app.figure1.com/case-detail/09685f04-4663-409a-9477-957c84a87189)

Sag FS T2 MR of the R knee in a 7-year-old patient with years of “knee popping” shows a torn, displaced discoid lateral meniscus (white arrow) with anterior parameniscal cyst (blue arrow). Cor FS T2 MR of the knee shows the torn, displaced lat meniscus (white arrow) covering the entire lat fem condyle, typical of a discoid morphology. Note the normal medial meniscus for comparison. #MSKMonday](https://app.figure1.com/case-detail/27f61f96-2960-489f-b62c-ba0e47c318bd)

You are shown a sagittal T1 (image 1) and a sagittal proton density fat suppression water-weighted image (image 2) of the knee of a 61-year-old.
What are the arrows indicating?
What other abnormality is odd about the patella?
