A ten month old infant presents to your office and parents ask your opinion about a small spot that appeared on their daughter’s arm a few weeks ago. The spot becomes red after they bathe their daughter. The infant has not had recent fever and has otherwise been well. There are no other spots that parents have noticed. On exam, you observe an orange-pink, 2x2 cm annular plaque on the infant’s right arm. No scaling is apparent. When you rub the lesion, it becomes red. Given this information, what is the most likely diagnosis?
2 mo with 2/52 history of these two lesions. Largest was present first and is growing. Smaller lesion is more recent. Mom reports he appears as if in pain when nursing. Per mom had a "blood blister" in his mouth when he was born that ruptured during nursing then disappeared. Perinatal and delivery course benign. All maternal labs negative. Regarding the lesions...the largest (orange arrow) has yellow coloring but appears fluid filled and is pedunculated although that is difficult to ascertain from photo. The smaller is consistent with mucocele. Thoughts?
58 y.o. No PMH. Initially presented w/ these 1 week ago on RLE- stated that they started about a week prior – start as a small red area with black dots in the middle smooth larger spot (black arrow) is now raised with many black dots in the middle and right around the edges – it feels fluid filled. Two smaller spots begin forming (blue and orange arrows). Patient returns to office today and states she popped the larger spot a few days ago- seroussanguinous fluid. Today redness expanding around each area with little bumps she states it's pruritic. Any ideas? Bug bite?
