Emergency call from 25 yof with heavy #PV bleeding

The patient had a late medical #Abortion at 12 weeks, due to medical reasons. Three days after receiving #Mifepristone and #Prostaglandin, the patient called for an #Ambulance due to uterine contractions with heavy Vaginal bleeding. On a particularly painful contraction, the #Amniotic-sac was passed intact. The mother requested that the #Endometrial membrane be removed, as to allow her to say goodbye to her child. Post #delivery, #haemorrhaging arrested with #Misoprostol & #Uterine massage. Patient given IV fluids and analgesia. #maternity

Similar cases

  1. atypical uterine fibroid. The patient was in ER for a miscarriage with heavy vaginal bleeding. HCG 1800. No IUP was visualized, EMC was filled with blood. The mass is seen superior to the fundus. It was called a fibroid by the radiologist.

  2. Cochrane Review; 7 trials (696 women), comparing progestogens in the treatment of threatened miscarriage with either placebo or no treatment.
Key findings: The evidence suggests that progesterone probably reduces the rate of spontaneous miscarriage but may make little or no difference to the number of preterm deliveries.

  3. Female 45 years with medical history of abnormal uterine bleeding. Dx: Multiple Fibroids (Uterine Myomatosis). CT scan shows solid mass in uterine fundus, both ovaries seem to be normal. After removal of fibroids, we performed abdominal histerectomy.

  4. 29 y/o female presented with pelvic pains, heavy vaginal bleeding and hypertension for 3 days. Pic shows uterine contents after D&C, consisting of large clumps of blood and vesicular mass. Patient was amenorrheic for 7 weeks PTA with qualitative B-hCG tests negative (twice). Guess and explain the diagnosis!

  5. A 52-year-old man presented with a 20-minute history of chest pain radiating to the left shoulder and neck, associated with dyspnea and diaphoresis.
He had a history of hypertension, long-term smoking, and a sedentary lifestyle.

  6. A 28-year-old woman presented with a 3-day history of intense pruritus over the lower back.
Physical examination revealed multiple small vesicles, some clustered and others scattered.

  7. A 4-month-old male infant presented with skin lesions localized to the chin for the past 3 days. Physical examination revealed multiple small pustules with surrounding inflammatory signs on the chin, along with a few scattered papules on the chest.
