Radiograph Findings

Radiograph of the pelvis and skull shows multiple foci of fibrous dysplasia (arrows and arrowhead). The lesion in the occiput (arrowhead) is causing thickening of the outer table of the skull.

Polyostotic fibrous dysplasia is associated with McCune-Albright syndrome. This syndrome is associated with a clinical triad of café-au-lait spots, polyostotic fibrous dysplasia, and precocious puberty. Other potential endocrine disorders include hyperthyroidism, acromegaly, and Cushing syndrome.
