Hyperpigmented rash | Figure 1

Hyperpigmented rash

Case Description:
3-year-old boy with a history of skin rash for the past 6 months, initially starting from the legs and now spreading all over the body while sparing the palms, soles, and face. The rash is associated with itching. The mother reports yellow pus discharge after nail trauma. Lesions heal with hyperpigmented spots without improvement in pigmentation. The patient is afebrile, slightly irritable due to itching, and shows no significant family history of skin conditions. Local examination reveals a few non-healing ulcers.

Question: Any idea what this could be? How can it be managed?
