Missing earring backing
Radiograph of the ear, performed to assess for a foreign body. Occasionally the backing of an earring becomes embedded within the earlobe. This can often be palpated directly and removed with a small incision. Radiographs are not typically necessary and may not identify non-metallic or plastic objects.
