A young boy has his wounds drained by @DrsWithoutBorders staff in east Aleppo, Syria. Embedded shrapnel has caused severe neurological lesions resulting in complete loss of awareness and epileptic seizures. As the battle for Aleppo enters a new phase, MSF reminds all sides of the rules of war under international humanitarian law. “All parties must allow people to flee to safety, allow the evacuation of sick and wounded, and facilitate the provision of protection and humanitarian assistance to those that are caught on the front lines,” says Teresa Sancristoval, head of MSF’s emergency unit.
