Case Summary

62 y/o F “fall/foot injury”

EMS dispatched for a 62 y/o f on a fall. Upon arrival I found pt sitting on floor A&O 4/4, GCS 15, pain 0/10, diminished R pedal pulse. Pt presents with obvious deformity with open ankle fracture.

Hx: Pt fell from standing height, twisting leg. Pt (+) intox and (+) blood thinners.

Tx: Crew administered fentanyl on scene and stabilized leg with vacuum splint, pt moved with Reeves. (+) PMS throughout. No other deficits found. Pt brought to local level 3 trauma hospital, waiting for eval results.

Pt was extremely compliant with crews, even moving affected leg, causing foot to shift & bleed.
