The patient skidded and crashed while holding firmly to her bicycle handlebars. When she got up, her left hand hurt. That was 3 weeks before she first presented to care. Her query was if she had broken it or not. No matter what, she wanted an x-ray to show her husband because she was sure she had fractured it. Which of the following history points really made this x-ray unnecessary? A. It really hurts to touch the finger at the joint where it joins the hand. B. It seems to still be swollen there three weeks later. C. When she makes a fist, the little finger tucks under the ring finger now and she can't make it not do that. I assured her that she was right.
