### Sagittal craniosynostosis

Lateral (image 1) of the skull shows anterior posterior elongation, also termed dolichocephaly. The Townes view (image 2) shows bony ridging (arrow) at the sagittal suture. The remainder of the sagittal suture is not visible. Reformatted bone window CT (image 3) and 3D reformatted CT (image 4) show craniosynostosis (arrow) affecting the sagittal suture. Craniosynostosis is premature fusion of a cranial suture. Sagittal suture craniosynostosis is the most common accounting for up to 60% of patients. Patients may present with an abnormal shape of the skull and palpable bony ridging.
