Extensive total knee replacement done on a patient with serious #Osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease).

Description

43-year-old female with a complete ACL tear confirmed on MRI and exam after jumping over an object. The patient prefers non-surgical management. Sports orthopedist recommends ACL repair. Patient three weeks s/p injury and enrolled in PT with mild pain on ambulation. Normal BMI, an avid dog walker, no other sports.

Main concern is for any potential long-term complications if left unrepaired. Willing to continue with PT. Rarely requiring NSAIDs for pain control.

Conclusion

Report: Femorotibial contusions with subchondral fracture in internal femoral condyle and posterolateral aspect of the tibia and cortical tear in medial femoral condyle. Tearing of the ACL and posterior horn of both menisci.
