Any thoughts on what would cause this black line? Right through nail bed. Patient states has been there for about 10 years. No trauma to nail. Unchanged in as many years. Weak spot in nail, causing nail to split.

diagnosis? Patient saw many professionals in the medical field who keep saying it is fungal but on appearance the fungus was distal to the nail along the nail bed, and medial lateral nail corners. Nails were brittle. Suspect years of trauma to nails causing them to thicken with slight #Onycholysis. Any further suggestions? Patient is fit and healthy but nails were yellow on presentation.
