39yom shot in the lower leg in the morning signed himself out of a government hospital because of waiting too long. Seen in private emergency dept. I noted both entry and exit wounds closed with one suture each. Tight swelling. Removed suture end elevated leg but took a lot of effort to convince him to attend a taxpayer funded facility as he has no insurance. My main concern is infection and compartment syndrome. Myoglobin only mildly elevated about 3 times normal.
