Mother brings in 2 year old child and asks what is wrong wit | Figure 1

Mother brings in 2 year old child and asks what is wrong with child's nails? It looks to me that a normal nail is forming under the body of an old one. The child is otherwise healthy, has never had any serious illnesses and only treatment close to the nails was treatment with Benzyl Benzoate 3 months previously for scabies. Could this have damaged the nail bed then and this is normal regrowth? Has anyone seen this before after Benzyl Benzoate or any other ideas of what this could be? The yellow grains on the skin are from some cheese colored snacks the child was eating.
