#2 toe amputation. Middle aged obese, diabetic, ESRD patient. Ulcer on #2 toe turned necrotic. Toe removed with #11 blade and fine dissection scissors. Ligaments and bone removed with rongeurs and vessels cauterized with bovie.

update POA does not want to remove toe he wants to see if toe gets better on its own. We referred patient to a podiatrist to see if he could make any head way with POA and patient.


Charot foot with toe amputation secondary to osteomyelitis inspired by infection extending to bone after self-removal of callous with pocket knife with dense diabetic neuropathy. Poorly controlled insulin-dependent diabetes.
