83 yo male. chief complaint of an accidental fall. arrived on scene to find patient on floor in bathroom. Patient was a resident at a specialty alzhiemers management facility and possessed sever alzhiemers. Patient was attempting to stand up from toilet when he fell forward over a rug on floor. Patient was unable to stand and deformity was apparent with a small amount of blood through pantd. Patient was exposed to reveal severe swelling and what appeared to be an open femur fracture. Patient was naturally splinted and analgesic therapy was administered. bone did not actually exit skin completely, just enough to bleed slightly and could be seen protruding approximately 0.5 cm.
