EMS called for a non-emergent status check of a female found by her friends. On arrival patient found on couch in apartment filled with garbage and rats. The patient was alert and oriented to person only, language barrier resulted in limited history. Feet were wrapped in sheets. Socks were oozing a black substance, they were removed and underneath this was found. Smell was horrendous. Patient was normotensive, afebrile, normoycemic, and tachycardic. Patient transported without incident, went to surgery soon after ER evaluation.
