Causes of acute renal failure in neonate

3 days old baby presented with grunting and difficulty in breathing and highly febrile (39° C) with attack of fits when he was 12 hours after delivery, born by normal vaginal delivery which is prolonged labour not cry immediately not active.

Admitted in ICU, more than 48 hours passed a little amount of urine by catheter: 30 ml per day.

Sodium by carb given twice with no response, after 12 hours serum K increased to 9.5 mg/dl, creatinine 3.3 mg/dl.

Doctor advised peritoneal dialysis.
