Case Summary:

Young male patient presented to ER after falling on a sharp object that led to a complete transection of his trachea and esophagus. Primary survey was completed. The patient was then transferred to the OR where primary repair of the esophagus with SCM flap was performed, along with primary laryngotracheal anastomosis and tracheostomy placement. The patient was discharged in good health.

Post-operative, barium swallowing was performed and showed no leaks or fistula.
