Patient Case Overview
62-year-old patient with a wound on the right calf which formed 15 days ago. There is no diabetes or history of venous insufficiency. Laboratory analysis 5 days ago showed elevated white blood count (12x10^9) and C reactive protein (170). Started Ceftriaxone intravenously with Metronidazole orally. Local findings are getting progressively worse, noticed necrosis in the wound bed. Laboratory findings today show WBC at 24x10^9, CRP at 280. Patient is febrile (up to 38°C).
