Follow up to my featured #burns case in a 7yo refugee from Mosul in #Iraq. This is the burn today, at Day 28. Exudate is now much reduced, and limited to the yellowish patch within the dotted line I've drawn. After the dressing I applied on day 13, and telling the family to wait 5 days, they came back the next day as the dressing had "gone hot and uncomfortable" in their tent and the family had taken it off... Needless to say a fair amount of education has meant that they're now leaving dressings alone. The boy is a little fighter! Applied a small amount of SSD gauze to the area of exudate, with a highly absorbent dressing above it. Commenced on oral multivitamin syrup in the hope it'll help healing to some extent.
