Frog-leg view of the pelvis
Frog-leg view of the pelvis shows asymmetric widening of the physis of the proximal right femur and medial displacement of the right femoral head typical of slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE).
SCFE most commonly occurs in obese adolescent males. As childhood obesity rates have increased, the disorder is being diagnosed at a younger age and is becoming more likely to occur bilaterally. Patients are treated with screw fixation in order to prevent complications such as avascular necrosis. #MSKMonday
