this 7yo girl showed with this bite surrounded by an area of redness (RUBOR), swelling (TUMOR), heat (CALOR), and exquisite tenderness (DOLOR). Based on this I diagnosed #Cellulitis of the thigh. I marked off and dated the area and then started her on #Cephalexin with follow-up the next day. The next day it had not improved and so it was re-marked and we started her on #Clindamycin in accordance with local #antibiograms. The next day she returned to clinic again and it was almost completely resolved (not shown). #Antibiotic-stewardship takes time and work, but it's also part of our job.
