Intraoperative fluoroscopic image from left (image 1) and right (image 2) ureterography show filling defects caused by nephrolithiasis within the left ureter (arrow, image 1) and right middle calyx (arrow, image 2). The incidence of pediatric nephrolithiasis is increasing. This is thought to be related to increased dietary salt intake, an over abundance of meat protein, and a low fluid intake. Patients with one kidney stone or more likely to have a second with a 50% recurrence rate within three years of the initial stone passage.
