Lupus variety
A 68-year-old male patient who shows extensive skin lesions on the upper part of the trunk and back of the upper limbs, lesions he refers to as photosensitive and recurrent, with arthritis and a feeling of fatigue. The lesions on the trunk are erythematous papules, slightly scaly and symmetrical, with a tendency to coalesce and do not leave a scar. Raised, scaly erythematous plaques on the face in hair follicles, with scarring and scarring alopecia on the scalp. No renal or neurological involvement.
Laboratory tests show positive anti-Ro (SS-A) antibodies, normal serum complement, slightly increased ANA.
What subtype of lupus would it be, the polycyclic ring variant of subacute cutaneous lupus or discoid lupus from chronic cutaneous lupus?
