26yof presented for EUS for local staging of rectal cancer. Flexible sigmoidoscopy showed 2-3cm lesion in the rectum approx 8cm from anal verge. No lymph node invasion.
Lower US: mass was hypoechoic and heterogeneous 9.9 x 31.8mm. Invades muscularis propria. Stage 1, T2. Internal and external sphincters were intact (pic). Tx: surgical resection.
