Coronal and axial CT images of the chest and heart show a pericardial teratoma compressing the right atrium. Pericardial teratomas are rare benign tumors that are frequently lethal due to mass effect and pericardial effusion causing tamponade.
The tumors can be managed in utero with serial surveillance and treatment when complications such as hydrops and declining cardiac output arise. #ThoraxThursday #ThoracicThursday
