Clear breakdown of tissue due to oedema of the legs more so where the dressing was stuck to the skin, on water tablets patient is compliant with advice , in a lot of pain and fed up. Been seeing her practice nurse for a few months trying to clear this up. What would you use? Do? Mepilex dressing has been used and mepitel. No infection present also. Poor lady struggling with this.

Hello Figure 1 team. I am facing a dilemma on what to do and how to treat different types of burns. I have been using Silvadene cream for a while now and have had good results with it. Some of my colleagues have been using Biafene ( emmolient ) and are against using Silvadene in the practice. I have been trying to do some research too but have been seeing different responses/results from people who have been using Silvadene. Some recommend to use it and some state not to use it as it delays wound healing and can increase the risk of infection. What do you guys use in your practice and what are the current guidelines for treating different kinds of burns? Would love to hear your comments/experience. Thanks !!!
