Subtalar dislocation
AP radiograph of the ankle shows a subtalar dislocation. The inferior aspect of the talus (arrow) stretches the skin causing a laceration. Small amounts of air (arrowhead) are present along the lateral surface of the fibula. Subtalar dislocations are uncommon and typically occur after motor vehicle collision or significant fall. In most instances, the foot is deviated medially.
