Case Report: Skin Rash

A 7 year old male patient, medically and surgically unremarkable, with up to date vaccinations, presented to our clinic with complaints of fever and skin rash.

Fever began 3 days ago, occurring once daily, predominantly at night. Fever was undocumented but reportedly responsive to antipyretics.

The patient was taken to a GP clinic, where the following treatment was administered:

• Ceftriaxone IM
• Sefarin

Following the administration of these medications, a skin rash developed within a few hours. The family sought further care at a private hospital, where the patient was given intravenous hydrocortisone and allerfin, but there was no improvement in the symptoms since yesterday.
