OK. So a few weeks back I posted on here and my patient who I treat for other reasons came into his appointment complaining of a sore leg. He showed me it was red and swollen. I advised him to go to his G. P. He was very reluctant to go but his wife managed to persuade him. He ended up over the hospital and was told he had cellulitis and an ulcer forming. He was put on I. V antibiotics but unfortunately discharged himself the next morning(patient is alcohol dependant) on coming back to see me today I asked about his leg and he showed me this.. I have urged him to go over the hospital but he just won't. Please excuse my ignorance as my expertise is mental health. My question to you is what will happen to my patient if he does not go to the hospital for treatment.

24 yo M comes to urgent care for “allergic reaction”. As he is being brought back to the room I overhear him say he was on amoxicillin and had never had problems with the medication in the past. The rash is itchy. Vital signs are normal. I take a quick peek at his chart and note that he was started on the amoxicillin 8 days prior for a sore throat. (Rapid strep test was negative at that point.) I order one test on him while I go see the next patient that nails the diagnosis. What test did I order and what is his diagnosis? What advice do you give this young man regarding amoxicillin in the future?

75 y/o Caucasian male being seen for his yearly physical. Only Hx is HTN, HLD, prostate and Colon cancer. No Hx (or family Hx) of skin cancer known. Noted this area on his upper back that is rough in texture, irregular border and what appears to be two different colors of brown to center. I am a new Adult NP and lack experience with Derm cases. Would love some feed back if I should refer this guy or just have him watch it?
