Path-case2: A soft, painless papule with characteristic histologic features...
25 years-old male, presented with a soft, painless papule in the abdominal region, the patient had no significant medical history.
H&E-stained histologic sections show a squamous lesion surrounded by a hyperplastic epidermis. Keratinocytes at the surface have a glassy, pink appearance (Due to viral inclusions: Henderson-Patterson bodies).
--> Those histologic findings are typically found in Molluscum Contagiosum.
The cup-shaped indentation appearance is not shown in this slide, however it represents another characteristic of this lesion.
