Genu Varus
Radiograph of the lower extremities shows genu varus or bow leggedness in a young child. Genu varus is a common normal variant in young children below the age of 2 (as in this patient). As children age, it becomes less common. The most common abnormality because of genu varus is Blount's disease. In these patients, there is medial beaking of the proximal tibia metaphysis and widening of the medial physis. Rickets is one of the other common causes of genu varus.
