1. A very rare case of BCCAO (Bilateral Common Carotid Artery Occlusion)

A very rare case of BCCAO (Bilateral Common Carotid Artery Occlusion): 38y.o male showed no vision loss or any neurological symptoms. D-Dimer level was normal (270ng/mL). MSCT angiography showed a complete obstruction in both CCA. Routine vascular ultrasound of the neck region revealed bilateral common carotid artery stenosis with dilated vertebral arteries on both sides.

The carotid artery divides to give off the middle and anterior cerebral arteries. A keen knowledge of these vessels and the area they supply is essential.
