pt was diabetic for 20+ years, uncontrolled, goes to dialysis 3x week, 80+ yrs old. L great toe amputated, 2nd toe is getting gangrene. Current tx: cleanse with dakin's solution, pat dry, apply santyl, cover with adaptic dressing, and dry dressingc secure with kerlix. Any other suggestions?
#2 toe amputation. Middle aged obese, diabetic, ESRD patient. Ulcer on #2 toe turned necrotic. Toe removed with #11 blade and fine dissection scissors. Ligaments and bone removed with rongeurs and vessels cauterized with bovie.
