bilateral #Cavernous-sinus-thrombosis and thrombosis left superior ophthalmic vein (arrows show normal enhancement right SOV and clot in left SOV) added arrows also show clot in cavernous sinuses

Findings

There is low attenuation in the right cavernous sinus due to thrombus. There is mild enlargement of the superior ophthalmic vein due to increased pressure in the cavernous sinus.
Discussion: The cavernous sinus extends from the superior orbital fissure to the petrous portion of temporal bone. Cavernous sinus blood supply arises from the superior ophthalmic veins, cerebral veins, sphenoparietal sinuses, deep facial muscles, and inferior ophthalmic veins. Therefore, the cavernous sinuses are susceptible to infection from multiple sites. Infected clots can spread and result in meningitis.
