Patient male, 25yo, presented to the clinic with tooth 1.4 with large coronal fracture, approximately 2 days old, history of RCT and composite obituration, previous doctor did not put in a core, I don’t know why. After an X-ray to see the status of the root canal, we decided there’s no need to retreat and went ahead with core post fixing and prepping for metalo-ceramic crown. A simple case since I haven’t posted in years and wanted to start of easy, I didn’t use rubber dam for core cementation because I felt confident in saliva management and my work time for core post, I used dual curing resin based cement and a fiber post, I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the abutment. Interesting fact about this case, my Technician went a bit to deep with the crown length, noticed this when I check the metal underlay, the gingiva pushed the crown in occlusion and patient accused pain at the checkup, I took an impression with fluid material in the crown and putty in the bite, the fluid was in a thicker layer on the occlusal aspect of the abutment, showing the Technician with good approximation how much he had to shorten the crown. On cementation day everything went per story, easy insertion, with Pontic occlusion, no need for further augmentations, patient left very satisfied.
