A 32 yo Hispanic woman presents to your office for a first prenatal visit. She is 7 wks pregnant. Pt recently quit smoking. She does not brush or floss regularly. She has not seen the dentist in several years because few dentists in her area take Medicaid insurance. What is the problem? What risk factors contribute to the problem? What members of the interprofessional team should be involved in patient’s care? What are appropriate interprofessional interventions for this patient?

6 yr old male. Had all baby teeth on left side extracted in Florida, then moved before the right side was extracted. only permanent teeth are mandibular central incisors. No 6 yr molars erupted yet. Ok, so I know they all need extracted, but isn't that a long time to go before his permanent teeth erupt? Will his permanent teeth be healthy? Is he jyst supost to eat the best he can until his teeth come in? I go out with the hygienist to schools in rural counties and then the dentist goes back the following week to do exams and treatment.
