Northern European woman in mid 60s. Has known severe rheumatism. After treatment for lymphoma her immune system collapsed. In her right eye a severe retinal infection reduced her VA to 0.4. Several infections over the last years have now reduced her vision to barely light perception.

This eye is considered lost, no further action required. Left eye is completely fine VA1.0+

She says that she is on antiglaucomatous drugs since 4 years and complains of sudden drop of vision of her left eye since 2 years during a severe attack of common cold (as she claims) with multiple epsodes of sneezing and coughing . she went to doctors during that attack and they told her that her IOP is highly elevated (she had severe pain in her left eye ) and her vision got better only in her nasal field of view and FFA revealed CRVO . she has a history of HCV and on examination VA: lt) pl rt)6/36 lt eye ) posterior synechiae and iris atrophy with shallow AC and intumesent cataract . the question is : can the viral attack that gave her common cold 2 years ago be responsible for the high elevation of iop and resultant central retinal vein occlusion also the posterior synechiae ??

Forty-four yr old female patient has been to several doctors with no results for dry eyes. Patient has no other health problems.
