Auto vs Ped, ATF ~50 y/o m laying prone in road after getting hit by a car. GCS 3 with decorticate posturing. Bystanders state pt ran out into traffic without warning. Approx speed at time of impact is 50mph. PT approx 30’ from car. Pertinent findings: massive avulsion of scalp, multiple abrasions/lacerations to Head, face, and mouth, and bi-lateral limbs. Pupils are reactive to light, and pt had snoring respiration’s. Pt placed in spinal precautions, 2 large bore IVs est, BG 108, pt had intact gag reflex, high O2 administered NRB. En route to trauma center pt became GCS 8, combative, and respiration’s improved. Pt was RSId at trauma center due to combativeness. X-ray shows no Fx , CT showed bleed. Vitals: HR 62, BP 112/92, RR 10, SPO2 98%. UTO PMH. CT findings attached and PT in ICU.
