Salter Harris type IV fracture

AP radiograph of the wrist shows Salter-Harris type IV fractures of the distal radius (arrow) and ulna (dashed arrow). Salter-Harris type IV fractures involve the epiphysis, physis, and metaphysis. They are more likely to be associated with subsequent growth plate arrest compared to the more common Salter-Harris type II fracture.

AP (image 1) and a lateral (image 2) radiograph of the wrist show a displaced Salter-Harris type II fracture of the distal radius. The fracture is translated dorsally by more than 100% with overlap of the fracture fragment from the donor site. A Salter-Harris type II fracture of the wrist is one of the most common fractures identified in children. It occurs from a fall onto an outstretched hand.](https://app.figure1.com/case-detail/0b287a42-b230-40d0-bb69-eaa0b27eebf2)
